But whatever you do, never EVER tell somebody about a part of the game mechanic that hundreds of players have been using for years unless you have SOLID evidence to back that up.

I swear, someone picks a fight about the stupidest aspect of an already released video game and wishes to argue if it works or not, when hundreds of players have already tried and learned from it.
The game I speak of in particular is an MMORPG called World of Warcraft, which I am sure the millions of players have already gone ahead and experienced how the game works. The particular part of the game which seems to have caused conflict is the part about the content from Expansion Packs.
While I am aware that the content supposedly "unlocked" by the Expansion packs are already stored in patches that are downloaded from the game servers, the fact remains, though, that the account information in the game server must show that you have purchased the Expansion pack before the server will allow the character to access that content.
What exactly was the argument, you ask? I stated that a character in the game could not get to a particular area enabled by an expansion pack. Why do I know this? Hundreds of players who did not have the expansion pack tried to access it, and did not. A very simple game mechanic that people would have complained about, right?
But in actually, the game mechanics is not the source of the issue. It was the fact that one who I was speaking to believed I was telling a lie about this game machanic, unless he would have seen proof.

... Really? I would lie about this?

This guy had never said before that he thought of me as a liar, yet out of the many things we had ever talked about over the years, he chose this particular fact about a game and said "I need evidence"?

It's true the game is a very small thing to have gotten worked up about, but calling me a lair is a BIG thing.
